Description: In this two-day course participants will be exposed to different aspects of fractions and be provided with a variety of tasks to assess fraction knowledge and to address any misconceptions. There will be many hands-on activities that will make strong connections with unit fractions, decimals and percentages.

• Variety of activities to make connections and consolidate the understanding and how we go about teaching fractions.
• Variety of manipulatives that can be used to teach/re-teach same understandings. Ideas are easy to use.
• Importance of the use of concrete materials regardless of year level – do not brush over the concrete learning stage.
