The Bond Blocks system has two uses: Whole Class teaching (Tier 1): teaching well initially in order to reduce the number of students who need intervention efforts Maths Intervention (Tier 2 and 3 Intervention): in small groups or with pairs of students to build up foundational skills. Informed by research using evidence-based methodology, developed by Australian teacher Narelle Rice together with Dr Paul Swan. The Bond Blocks Addition & Subtraction Kit is designed for the prevention and intervention of mathematics difficulties in Addition & Subtraction for Year 1 and Year 2 level content. The 108 activities are sequenced to develop fluency with basic facts. The activities systematically target milestone addition and subtraction content descriptors including missing number pre-algebra concepts and application to word problems. The Addition & Subtraction kit can be used for: Tier 1 Whole Class Teaching in Year 1 and 2. Tier 2 Intervention with small groups from Years 1 to 4. Tier 3 Intervention for individual students from Years 1 to 6+ who count to add or subtract. Every activity is designed for explicit teaching and modelled in a short video. Each activity has its own webpage detailing related mathematical concepts, mathematical language and differentiation (see www.bondblocks.com). The activities have been designed to support students with learning disabilities. Includes Assessment and Monitoring tools. Kit contains materials to work with 4 students simultaneously in Tier 2 intervention. Classroom Add-ons required for Tier 1. This kit is the basis for the Bond Blocks Addition & Subtraction program. Purchase one kit per school. This kit contains the activity boards and their printable PDF files, the 100-minute introductory (Level 1) professional learning module and all of the tests, assessments and teaching to go with the lessons available at bondblocks.com.
