Outline:
During this interactive session Narelle will:
Give you a Counting Skills Sequence to link the Kindy and Pre-Primary Maths Curriculums.
Explore the top five predictors of difficulties in maths, identified by research, for students who are 4 and 5 years old.
Share evidence-informed strategies to help address these.
Some of the top tips will come from Narelle and Paul’s newly released resources
These resources include Counting Skills Checklists and are linked to the ABLEWA curriculum to support students with learning disabilities.
The Counting to 10 and 20 with Bond Blocks activities are organised into
(i) student led exploratory play activities,
(ii) guided play activity cards and
(iii) sequenced, teacher led counting activities.
Participants will be able to explore each of these kinds of activities.
