This publication is unique for many reasons but the most important one is that part proceeds from the title will be used to fund the scholarship in Derek’s name for a primary educator to engage in mathematics professional learning.

In memory of Derek Hurrell The Mathematics Education community was saddened by the sudden loss of Derek Hurrell.
Derek had the ability to lift the spirits in a room almost instantly. He was a wonderful educator who left his imprint on thousands of teachers who have passed through his classes at the University of Notre Dame Australia. Derek was an exceptional teacher and he loved teaching.
