Statistics > (1) Gather, (2) Display, (3) Communicate
Australian Curriculum Version 9 Says:
Conduct guided statistical investigations involving the collection, representation and interpretation of data for categorical and discrete numerical variables with respect to questions of interest.
What this means
The students, with help, create, refine, conduct investigations (mostly surveys), display the data and form conclusions.
- Categorical data, is data that may be sorted into types or categories.
(e.g. “eye colours in our class”). An interpretation of the data may be “most students in our class have blue eyes.” - Discrete means the data is counted not measured
(e.g. “number of cars in the car park”).
