Australian Curriculum Version 9 Says:

Describe and perform translations, reflections and rotations of shapes, using dynamic geometric software where appropriate; recognise what changes and what remains the same, and identify any symmetries.

What this means

Students explain how reflections (flips), translations (slides) and rotations (turns) are used to create images.

  • Students can draw images by hand or software using a combination of translations (slides), rotations (turns) or reflections (flips).
  • Symmetry. Shapes may have no symmetry, line symmetry (single and multiple lines) and rotational symmetry.
