Australian Curriculum Version 9 Says:
Create and use algorithms involving a sequence of steps and decisions that use rules to generate sets of numbers; identify, interpret and explain emerging patterns.
What this means
This is not referring to the use of standard written algorithms but rather step by step procedures for generating patterns.
- Rules, flowcharts, coding may be used to generate different types of patterns, such as:
- Patterns where you add or subtract or do both (additive patterns)
- Patterns where you multiply or divide or do both (multiplicative patterns)
